2018 Gettysburg Music Festivals

Many come to Gettysburg for the history, but what you may not know is that Gettysburg also has an impressive list of music festivals throughout the year. From bluegrass to brass, and rock to Irish, there is a scene for just about any musical taste. Check out this list of 2018 festivals with live music on the schedule!

RosFest – May 4-6

RosFest – Rites of Spring Festival is a progressive rock affair held annually at the Majestic Theater in downtown Gettysburg.  RosFest draws in a loyal crowd with 10 different bands performing across three days. 2018 is the 15th anniversary of RosFest and they intend to make it an event to remember! Italian legends Premiata Forneria Marconi and District 97 are among the bands to perform this year.

Gettysburg Bluegrass Festival – May 17-20 & August 16-19

This bi-annual event is sure to get your toes tapping! This lively four-day music festival is held at Granite Hill Camping Resort. Enjoy bluegrass tunes from musicians across the country and learn how to strum a few chords yourself at a bluegrass workshop. When your bellies start to grumble, grab a bite from a food truck right on site. This family-friendly festival is enjoyed by folks of all ages!

Gettysburg Brass Band Festival – June 7-9

During this three-day music festival, historic Gettysburg becomes the meeting place for bands from across the country, and even the world. These beautiful brass instruments are likely to fill you with nostalgia for your high school days listening to the marching band play at Friday night football games. A favorite part of the festival is the Instrument Petting Zoo, where children of all ages can try out different brass instruments.

4th of July Community Concert and Fireworks – July 4

You can’t get any more American than Gettysburg to celebrate the 4th of July! This Patriotic Pops Concert is fun for kids and adults alike! Snack on delicious food and wash it down with local beer and wine. Then, get ready for a spectacular firework display to celebrate Independence Day. While you’re in town, stay for a couple of days and explore the history of Gettysburg.

Gettysburg Bike Week – July 12-15

Over 30,000 motorcyclists converge in Gettysburg for the town’s very popular Bike Week. In addition to the bike show, parade of chrome and biker games at the event – there is non-stop live music! In between poker runs and tattoo contests, be sure to check out who’s playing on the Budweiser Stage. All bands are included in the cost of admission.

Adams County Irish Festival – July 21

Whether you are of Irish descent, are interested in Irish culture or just love Irish music – the Adams County Irish Festival welcomes you. This annual event is held at Gettysburg Moose Park and showcases everything Irish! Irish music and dance is a major component of this one-day event, but the fun doesn’t stop there. Treat your taste buds to an Irish dish and go home with an Irish souvenir to remember this Gettysburg experience.

Gettysburg Rocks – August 10-12

The entire town of Gettysburg comes together for this bi-annual music festival! Gettysburg Rocks features over 150 bands across multiple venues and benefits Four Diamonds. Four Diamonds is a charity working to conquer childhood cancer. Rock out for a cause at the August music festival in 2018 and look forward to the event again in February!

Gettysburg Wine & Music Festival – September 8-9

Two things that undeniably go together are wine and music! Every September, Gettysburg hosts a wine and music festival at the Gateway Gettysburg Complex. Taste wines from across Pennsylvania, buy a bottle of your favorite wine and pour yourself a glass while listening to live musical entertainment. Whether you like sweet or dry, red or white, this is a must-attend event for every wine enthusiast!

Adams County Heritage Festival – September 16

The Adams County Heritage Festival celebrates the many cultures that make up the people of Adams County. Celebrations include the unique music and dance of these cultures, as music defies all languages and boundaries. Also enjoy ethnic foods, family-friendly games and craft booths. Celebrate your own culture and learn more about another at the Adams County Heritage Festival!

Salsa on the Square – September 28

Salsa on the Square is a fiesta to celebrate the contributions of Latino people to the economy and culture of Adams County. The Salsa Dance will take place on the first block of Carlisle Street featuring live Latino music. Between sets, DJ Solalinda will be playing dance music for the community to enjoy. Join the fun and do the Salsa! Also enjoy Mexican food and other family-friendly games and activities.

National Apple Harvest Festival – October 6-7 & 13-14

People travel far and wide for the amazing apple foods found at the National Apple Harvest Festival held in nearby Biglerville, Pennsylvania every year. However, food isn’t the only thing to be enjoyed! Stop by the Apple Auditorium or the Bluegrass Hollow Stage for great music by live bands. You can even experience tractor square dancing at this Adams County festival!

Annual Holiday Tuba Carol Fest – December 14

We can all agree that when the most magical time of the year comes around, holiday carols are just what we need to get in the spirit. Join Gettysburg for the Annual Holiday Tuba Carol Fest this year and you won’t be disappointed. Small-town Gettysburg comes together – locals and visitors alike – for hot chocolate and to sing Christmas carols in the heart of Lincoln Square. Tuba players of all ages travel hours to small-town Gettysburg to put on this spectacular show!
