Countryside Adventure

Taste your way through the Adams County countryside with samplings from some of Pennsylvania’s finest craft beverages.

Day 1

Have the opportunity to collect TEN Adams County Pour Tour stamps with this action-packed two-day itinerary. Begin your journey with lunch at the Terrace Bistro at Adams County Winery in Orrtanna, Pennsylvania. Sit on the porch and enjoy a glass of your favorite wine. If you are having trouble choosing just one wine to sip on, start off with a free wine tasting!

Next, head to Halbrendt Vineyard & Winery only four miles away. Halbrendt’s wines lean more heavily dry, with a few semi-dry and semi-sweet wines to sample. Enjoy a glass in their picnic area overlooking the beautiful vineyards.

Before heading to your next Pour Tour destination, make a stop at Mister Ed’s Elephant Museum & Candy Emporium. Explore the free museum’s 20,000+ elephants and grab some of their famous peanuts or homemade fudge for the road.

Less than ten minutes away is your next stop - Reid’s Winery: The Home Winery, where you’ll taste flavorful wine and hard cider. Remember, if you try one of each craft beverage here you’ll get two stamps to add to your passport! Enjoy the view from their outdoor picnic seating, or if you’re getting hungry make your way to Hickory Bridge Farm Restaurant.

Satisfy your appetite with a hearty farm dinner served family-style at Hickory Bridge. There is also a bed and breakfast on site, making it the perfect place to end your day and get a good night’s rest before another day of tastings!

Day 2

After enjoying a delicious breakfast at Hickory Bridge, continue your Pour Tour expedition at Hauser Estate Winery in neighboring Biglerville, Pennsylvania. Enjoy the breathtaking views from Hauser’s 360-degree tasting room and sip on a glass or flight of wine and cider outside on their beautiful porch overlooking acres of farmland.

Next, head right down the road to Thirsty Farmer Brew Works. This brew pub serves lunch as well as bold ciders and brews. Take your lunch out on the porch and soak up some more sunshine as you refuel.

If you’re looking to bring home a taste of Adams County, head across the street to the Historic Round Barn and Farm Market or make a stop at one of the many other farm markets in Biglerville. Fresh produce, homemade baked goods and other tasty treats fill the shelves. In fact, your next stop has a tasting room, farm market and nursery all in one spot!

Boyer Cellars is a partnership between a Northern Maryland based winery and Boyer Nurseries & Orchards. The winery uses Boyer’s fruit to make its cider and fruit wines. The tasting room opened to feature these delicious local wines and ciders. Buy a bottle of your favorite luscious libation and pop it open out on their beautiful outdoor wraparound porch.

After this two-day itinerary, your passport is filling up! Don’t forget to redeem your prizes along the way and save your passport for your next visit so you can keep adding to your stamp collection.
