The Gettysburger Company

35 Chambersburg Street

Gettysburg, PA 17325

At the Gettysburger Company, we only serve the freshest gourmet burgers from local farms. A local butcher delivers fresh ground beef to us twice a day, and we form them into tasty burgers in our kitchen. No pre-packaged burgers here!

In addition to sirloin burgers, we serve grilled chicken sandwiches, crab cake sandwiches, veggie burgers, wraps, chicken fingers and fries. We also have a kid's menu for our younger customers. Gluten-free and vegetarian options are available. 100% of our ingredients come from local farms right here in Adams County, PA to ensure the utmost quality.

We are a family-friendly restaurant with a full bar serving all of your favorite traditional drinks. If you're looking for something new, give our "spiked milkshakes" a try! During the warmer months, enjoy your meal in our beautiful outdoor dining space. Also stay tuned for special live music events coming soon.

Located on the site of one of the earliest houses in Gettysburg, The Gettysburger Company continues a tradition of hospitality, which began in 1850 with the Mrs. Schwartz's Oyster Parlor. The Oyster Parlor operated for eight years and then was converted to a private residence. During the Battle of Gettysburg, the residence was said to have housed "A good many surgeons," so it may have been used as a field hospital at the time. Mr. E. H. Minnigh opened a confectionary store here in 1868 and served those delicacies until his death in 1903.

In 1920, the then-remodeled candy shop opened as the Blue Parrot Tea Room. Situated on the famous transcontinental Lincoln Highway (US Route 30), The Blue Parrot Tea Room quickly developed a national reputation. The Blue Parrot Tea Room continued to operate as the Adam's House Tavern.

In 1988, Holly Giles, Gary Yount, and Chef Allison Giles purchased the historic building. With an appreciation for the tradition of fine dining and their interest in the preservation of old town Gettysburg, they opened The Blue Parrot Bistro. Known fondly by Gettysburg locals as: The Parrot, The Blue Parrot Bistro continued as a local staple.

New owners Gus Zucco and Hilary Styer-Zucco have decided to turn the space into Gettysburg's newest burger joint. You are always welcome here at The Gettysburger Company!
