Coming soon to Gettysburg!
Mount Hope Estate is Pennsylvania's original winery, brewery, cidery and distillery. Home to year-round entertainment including the Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire, the estate specializes in the production of hand-crafted Mount Hope Wines, Swashbuckler Beers, Lancaster County Ciders and Spirits Distilling Company spirits. Mount Hope Estate strives to continue its long-standing history of providing a destination for unique entertainment, culinary experiences and educational opportunities through sampling of its craft beverages at its new location in Gettysburg! Wine, cider, beer, spirits, cider and mead can all be sampled at its Gettysburg location.
Mount Hope Winery is excited to become a part of the Gettysburg community and recognizes that specific, common, unwavering traits sustained both the Union and Confederacy armies throughout the awe-inspiring battles. Mount Hope Estate & Winery is proud to pay tribute to those individuals who carried these qualities onto the hallowed grounds of Gettysburg with our Pennsylvania Native Wines, specially labeled as our Battlefield Series: Courage, Honor, Valor and Duty.
Wine has been the lifeblood of Mount Hope Estate & Winery throughout its 39 years of operation. The Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire and other events were born to create foot traffic to the estate to support the wine sales from its Carriage House Wine Shop. Mount Hope Wines were originally produced and bottled in North East, PA and shipped to the Estate. In 2016, Mount Hope Winery returned wine production to Lancaster County for the first time since 1980 and now boasts a capacity of 40,000 gallons of wine and 40,000 gallons of cider. Mount Hope Winery uses the best juices and wines to blend and produce its award-winning wines tailored to all tastes from sweet to dry and sold at reasonable prices.
In 2000, Swashbuckler Brewing Company was established at Mount Hope Estate and began producing craft beer grain to glass. Since then, Swashbuckler has enjoyed production expansion from 36 barrels then, to today's 15,000 barrels, producing a portfolio of Swashbuckler Beers and Lancaster County Ciders. Lancaster County Cider springs from the talents of both of Mount Hope's master beverage crafters who work to produce flavorful hard apple cider without waters or fillers.
Visitors to the Estate are often consumed by the burning question "is it haunted?" The history of Mount Hope Estate endures through the energy, enthusiasm and determination of both the living and departed. In 2018, Spirits Distilling Company LLC, awakened from the Estate's rich past to carry on the call to Live Free, Dine Well and Drink In The Spirit. A line of standard varieties are produced, but the main attraction are the spirits distilled from other estate beverages, capturing the essence of the original product in its new form.
Mount Hope Estate & Winery's mission statement is: "Building interactive, magical environments that create unique experiences for every guest, every time." Whether at an event on Estate grounds or sampling at one of our satellite stores, we strive to make every guest interaction memorable through our friendly, energetic staff.
