Get a delicious bowl of Mr. G's Homemade Ice Cream and root beer floats for just $5 in support of the Adams Rescue Mission (ARM). Ice cream will be served in front of the Blue & Gray on Lincoln Square.
Proceeds benefit the homeless shelter programs of the ARM. The Adams Rescue Mission's Men's shelter is located at 2515 York Road, Gettysburg. This is a Christ-based program that houses up to 30 men. It is designed for men who genuinely desire to recover from addictive behaviors including (but not limited to) drugs and/or alcohol. This is a work oriented program requiring each man to work a steady 40-hour work week. Counseling sessions are available at no charge and daily chapel services/recovery classes are attended by all residents. Clothing, food, and shelter are provided at no charge.
The purpose of the Men's shelter is not just to house the homeless. The men are taught life skills based on the Word of God. These men are given another chance at life through the practical application of the skills taught on our program. Here at the mission, we do not simply recycle cardboard, glass, and plastic, but more importantly, we recycle lives.
