Yes we have a famous battlefield to tour by car, bicycle, horseback, and even on foot but we boast a wealth of activities beyond those historic acres.
From historic taverns to ethnic cuisine, farm-to-table dining to unique edibles, the tastes of Gettysburg are sure to please every palate.
With adventures to suit every budget, Gettysburg and Adams County businesses offer plenty of packages to help visitors create their dream vacations.
Outside your window is the beautiful York County Heritage Rail Trail, while you enjoy The Susquehanna Travellers on this one-hour ride to Glen Rock, PA. We will take you back in time to the 1860s, when President Lincoln rode the same line on his way to Gettysburg to deliver his now-famous Gettysburg Address. ALL ABOARD!
The Susquehanna Travellers have been playing traditional Nineteenth Century music for more than a decade, with a focus on the Civil War era and Irish music. The musicians are also Civil War re-enactors and are members of the 87th Volunteer Infantry.
The coaches are pushed and pulled by our vintage diesel locomotive. This excursion is about an hour long.
Tickets will be available to be picked up at the ticket booth in the back of the gift shop on the day of the trip. Please arrive 30 minutes prior to departure.
