Yes we have a famous battlefield to tour by car, bicycle, horseback, and even on foot but we boast a wealth of activities beyond those historic acres.
From historic taverns to ethnic cuisine, farm-to-table dining to unique edibles, the tastes of Gettysburg are sure to please every palate.
With adventures to suit every budget, Gettysburg and Adams County businesses offer plenty of packages to help visitors create their dream vacations.
More than 500 pumpkins will be available for children to paint and take home free-of-charge. Children who wear their Halloween costumes will get a trick-or-treat bag to fill with loose candy.
Throughout the event, acclaimed artist Michael Allison will carve giant pumpkins that will be raffled to benefit the Adams County SPCA. His pumpkin art has been featured in the White House and Vice President’s residence. Allison’s fanciful art can also be seen throughout the Mister Ed’s property as murals and elephants.
Refreshments including caramel apples, soft pretzels and apple cider will be available for donation, with all proceeds benefiting the Adams County SPCA. Plus enjoy live music.
Registration is not required. Families are encouraged, if possible, to arrive throughout the afternoon, not during the busiest time of Noon-1pm. There is no rain date for the event.
