Yes we have a famous battlefield to tour by car, bicycle, horseback, and even on foot but we boast a wealth of activities beyond those historic acres.
From historic taverns to ethnic cuisine, farm-to-table dining to unique edibles, the tastes of Gettysburg are sure to please every palate.
With adventures to suit every budget, Gettysburg and Adams County businesses offer plenty of packages to help visitors create their dream vacations.
Join us for the inaugural "The Tattooed Historian Presents" event! This is the first of what is hoped will be a monthly speaking series. We will be in the GO Too, the upstairs, private bar of the Garryowen.
Our speaker for this event will be Dr. Ian Isherwood from Gettysburg College. He is very passionate about history, especially the WWI era, and is well-respected by his students. He also has a tremendous sense of style. The title of the talk is: "'We will remember them': The Great War's Legacy at 100." The talk will run approximately 45 minutes and will be followed by a period of Q&A. Afterward, stick around and network with your peers.
Food and drink will be available downstairs. You are encouraged to grab a drink at the bar and/or order some food, and then head upstairs to our private room! This will be a relaxed atmosphere where you can enjoy your evening while learning something new. And there is absolutely NO cover charge or "suggested donation" for the event. Show up and enjoy your evening among friends!" Check out their Facebook page for more information.
