Mark your calendar for the fifth annual Ford Family Day on Saturday, August 4th from 8 am to 6 pm! The Ford Motor Company Fund has generously arranged for a day of great activities for the whole family – including free entry to the Cyclorama, Film and Museum experience brought to you by the Gettysburg Foundation in partnership with the National Park Service at Gettysburg.
This year’s Ford Family Day will feature special programs for kids of all ages, free ice cream, free music and more. Come experience life during the mid-1800s with living historians as they showcase their trades, and have a family photo taken to share your day on social media. Special Ranger-led activities focus on stories and themes that appeal to families and children. An encampment of living historians, representing the 15th New Jersey infantry, will be located on the front lawn of the Visitor Center. Period-dressed living historians will present demonstrations of 19th century crafts on the lawn and in the Visitor Center. Musicians will perform Civil War-period music. A local ice cream shop will provide visitors with free ice cream.
