Annual Olde Getty Place Gettysburg Halloween Parade

The Gettysburg Halloween Parade has been a family-friendly Gettysburg tradition for nearly 50 years. This year, the annual event steps off on Tuesday, Oct. 22, at 7 p.m. The parade is being hosted by the Elm Street Program, “Olde Getty Place,” and will be emceed by Kim Alexander and Scott Donato of the 107.7 Morning Show.
Multiple school bands and other organizations, including the Gettysburg and Littlestown high school bands, the Gettysburg College Band, the Hanover Lancers Alumni Drum and Bugle Corps, the Jr. ROTC from Gettysburg High School, the Gettysburg Young Marines and the Gettysburg Community Theatre, have already registered to participate in the parade. There will also be many floats and walking groups, McIlwee said, as well as cash prizes for parade participants totaling more than $3,400.
The Halloween Parade has received contributions this year from such community partners at the Gettysburg Eagles Aerie No. 1562, Battlefield Harley Davidson, Herff Jones, the Blue Parrot Bistro, Lois Edwards, the Farnsworth House, Codori Memorials, Adams County National Bank, Hockley and O’Donnell, and Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Dietz.
Formation is at the Gettysburg Middle School on Lefever Street. The parade will move north on Baltimore Street to Lincoln Square. Then out York Street to right onto Liberty Street. Parade will cross Middle Street and disband at the Middle School.The rain date for the event is Tuesday, Oct. 29 at the same time.
