Due to a bridge under construction on PA 234 outside of Arendtsville, there are some realignments of routes to get to and from the National Apple Harvest Festival at the South Mountain Fair Grounds in Adams County. Our suggestion is not to reply on GPS or similar systems for your final approach but to follow the suggested routes noted below. Regardless of the direction you are coming from you will be directed into a remote parking lot and then bussed to the Fairgrounds. Remember the name of your parking lot!
From the Carlisle area, go south on PA 34 to Quaker Valley Road and turn right, then follow the signs to the parking areas.
From the Harrisburg region, take US 15 south to the PA 234 exit (Heidlersburg) , turn right and follow PA 234 to Heckenluber Road, then follow the signs and the directions of the Fire Police.
From the York area, take US 30 west to US 15, then north to the PA 234 exit (Biglerville), turn left and follow PA 234 west to the Heckenluber Road junction as noted above.
From the Baltimore area, take I-83 north to Exit 16 (Arsenal Road), take US 30 west to US 15 and take US 15 north to PA 234 as noted for York above.
From the DC and Frederick regions, follow I-270 to US 15 and then follow US 15 north to PA 234 as noted for York above.
From I-81 and Chambersburg take US 30 east towards Gettysburg, turn left at Cashtown Road (blinking red light), take Cashtown Road to Arendtsville, turn left at T-intersection and follow instructions from the Fire Police.
Leaving the area simply follow the signs at each exit of the parking lot (remember which one of the many you are parked in!) to which ever major highway you need to get home—US 15, US 30, PA 234.
