Day 1

When Spring rolls around, everyone is ready to get out - and that means something different for everybody. Here is a great two day plan to help you get out this spring in Gettysburg and Adams County. Can't wait to see you!

Pack your comfy shoes and make a stay of it! Blend the great outdoors with great history for a fun-filled adventure. Consider camping to really get into the outdoors - don't worry, we have great cabins if you don't want to rough it. Once you are set and ready — explore.

Take a hike at Strawberry Hill Nature Preserve. With 10 miles of trails open daily, you will discover woodlands, mountain streams, ponds and amazing wildlife. Depending on your visit, you can even take in one of their many special events and talks.

Grab a bite to eat from one of our many farm markets throughout the Historic South Mountain Fruit Belt. A drive through the fruit belt is a sensory overload tour! Visit the first weekend of May and enjoy the 59th Annual Apple Blossom Festival.

Sip the fruits of our vines and orchards at one of our wineries. Be sure to check out the hard cider offerings - Adams County is tops in apples in Pennsylvania and the cider we produce is hard to beat! Need a little direction on where to go? Follow the Gettysburg Wine & Fruit Trail... you could spend days exploring and tasting!

Day 2

Enjoy the great outdoors will taking in the history with a horseback tour of the National Park. What an amazing way to see the battlefields - just as the cavalry did 150 years ago, only you have a guide! Looking for something a little different? Did you know you can tour the battlefields by carriage, Segway, bicycle and scooter? You can even take an iPad tour, complete with Augmented Reality. Check out all the ways to explore the 6,000-acre military park and the stories of those who fought here.

With spring always comes the golf enthusiasts' itch to tee off. Consider a stay-and-play package, or just book a round. Carroll Valley Golf Course at Liberty Mountain offers an 18-hole championship course designed by Ault, Clark & Associates. The Links At Gettysburg offers a unique layout and spectacular scenery. If you're looking for a full grass practice range, look no further than Mountain View Golf Club in Fairfield.  Penn National Golf Course offers two courses for your playing pleasure. Quail Valley Golf Course is a local favorite with two distinctly different nines. With so many courses, you may want to book a week of just golf!
