Commemorate the 155th Anniversary of the Battle of Gettysburg at the annual battle reenactment in Gettysburg!
The smoke and flame of full scale artillery fire, the explosions and smell of black powder, smoke rings drifting in the air, the distinct pounding of thundering hooves and the metallic clash of mounted cold steel sabers will always be a highlight for both re-enactors and visitors at the annual Gettysburg Civil War Re-enactment.
The popular events will be held at the Gettysburg movie site. This beautiful event site is three miles south of Gettysburg next to Gettysburg National Military Park, the Eisenhower National Historic Site, the historic Sachs Mill Covered Bridge, and overlooks Big and Little Roundtop.
Exciting battles daily. Besides these popular battles, there will be field demonstrations, live mortar fire, a living history village, medical demonstration area and two large living history tents with continuous programs all day. Just a few of the announced living history programs include ladies period dress, Civil War music, period religious services, Civil War period weddings, presentations by the generals and Civil War photography. Visitors can also stroll through the military camps talking to the re-enactors and browse the extensive sutler area.
The 155th Gettysburg Anniversary Civil War Reenactment is a very popular all-day family event designed to both entertain and educate.
Gates open at 8:30am. Tickets for the event go on sale July 31, 2018. Reenactor registration will be open July 24, 2017.
