Join us here at the Historic Farnsworth House for "The Farnsworth Experience!" Included in your ticket price, you will receive a 15% off voucher for Sweney's Tavern (excludes alcohol), and a discussion with Licensed Battlefield Guide Tim Smith in our cellar at 5pm where you will learn about Jennie Wade, the only civilian killed during the three day conflict, the Battle of Gettysburg as a whole, and the role that the Farnsworth House played during the battle. After the discussion, you will head up to the Meade and Lee dining rooms at 7pm where you will enjoy our five-course Civil War feast. Everyone will receive our pickled watermelon rinds, house made peanut soup, a side salad served with our house Amish Sweet & Sour Dressing, Jennie Wade Bread and Spoon Bread served with apple and whipped butter, apple pie for dessert, along with your choice between our house specialty Game Pie, Herb Chicken, or Vegetable Lasagna. During dinner, a Civil War Soldier, in full battle dress, will talk about his uniform, weapons, daily life, and what it would have been like to be a soldier during the battle. This is going to be an amazing night, so whether you are staying here with us for a few days, or just passing through town, you won't want to miss this event!
