Gettysburg Rocks is a bi-annual music festival, held in February and August. The festival features over 130 live bands across multiple venues in the Gettysburg area. The event benefits Four Diamonds, whose mission is to conquer childhood cancer by assisting children treated at Penn State Hershey Children’s Hospital and their families through superior care, comprehensive support, and innovative research. Money raised in February is donated to Four Diamonds via Penn State Dance Marathon (Mont Alto). Money raised in August is donated directly to Four Diamonds. Please visit fourdiamonds.org for more information on the beneficiary.

The original concept for the festival was just an idea until founder Rob Simon’s daughter Ashley approached him to help her with a fundraiser for Penn State Mont Alto’s THON group. During the course of an 11-week period the first Gettysburg Rocks event was planned, created and implemented and was an immediate success. The first event was held on the weekend of February 7th, 2014 and included 130 live bands across 12 venues in Gettysburg. The event raised over $14,000. After the success of the first event, Rob was approached by several of the participating venues to create a warm weather version of the popular festival and the August event was created. Since its inception, Gettysburg Rocks has raised over $81,000.
